So What Do I Read?

Throne Of Glass

I do want to rave about this book from Sarah J Maas, Throne of Glass. My gosh, this is an amazing read. You are sucked into this fantasy story from the moment Celaena is escorted in shackles from the salt mine. It is a story of revenge and redemption, of being driven to make choices that will benefit no-one.  Celaena is forced to fight for her life against assassins and thieves, to win the right to become the King’s Champion. The king, a man she hates with her whole being. Throw in a love triangle and some demons and ghosts, and this is a fantastic read!

I love this book and had to buy a second copy for myself after my 15 yr old son ‘acquired’ my first copy. I also sent y 13 yr old niece a copy. Highly recommend!

So What Do I Read?

So what do I read?

Well, I have just finished ‘Billy Summers’ by Stephen King. I read a lot of his books, and this one is a great read. It has links to The Shining, which are very, very creepy. The storyline kept me up reading way too late at night, and the ending was completely unexpected.

I also just finished ‘Keeping Faith’ by Jodi Picoult. An amazing read, very much worth the effort. Great characterisation, and the storyline shows how easily anything you say or do can be misconstrued. Gives great insight into how deep lawyers will go to find dirt on a person.

The third book I have read this week was ‘Never Let Me Go’ by Kazuo Ishiguro. This was a forced read, and at first I struggled with the style of writing. The ideas were incredible, the characters realistic, and the ending left me in tears. But this is not a book I would read again, I don’t suspect.
